Great Park Movie on the Lawn: ‘Kung Fu Panda’

IRVINE– Before you see Kung Fu Panda 2 in theaters, watch the original 2008 Oscar nominee for best animated feature, Kung Fu Panda (PG) under the stars at the Great Park. On Saturday, June 4 at 8 pm, the Great Park Movie on the Lawn series continues with the story of Po the Panda, a bumbling Panda who aspires to be a kung fu master. Kung Fu Panda stars the celebrity voices of Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie and Jackie Chan.

Admission and parking are free, and visitors should bring blankets or lawn chairs to sit on the lawn. Warm clothing is recommended, and visitors are welcome to bring picnics and movie snacks.
Come back Sunday for the Great Park Farmers Market where shoppers can buy fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables and enjoy treats from a wide variety of gourmet food trucks. For more information, please visit www.ocgp.org.

The Orange County Great Park, with its 1,347-acre master plan, is the focal point of the redevelopment of the publicly-owned portion of the 4,700-acre former Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro. Movie on the Lawn Series Presents “Despicable Me” at the Great Park

IRVINE–The Orange County Great Park Movie on the Lawn Series continues with a showing of the animated film Despicable Me (PG) on Saturday May 7th at 8 p.m. Watch under the stars on the big screen how a criminal mastermind is changed for the better in this animated film starring the voices of Steve Carell, Russell Brand and Julie Andrews.

Admission and parking are free, and visitors should bring blankets or lawn chairs to sit on the lawn. Warm clothing is recommended, and visitors are welcome to bring picnics and movie snacks.

Movie on the Lawn Series Begins This Weekend Featuring ‘How to Train Your Dragon’

IRVINE – It’s time to bring out your blanket and lawn chair for the Great Park Movie on the Lawn this Saturday, April 2, featuring the animated movie How to Train Your Dragon (PG).

At 8 p.m., giant outdoor screen will show the incredible story of a hapless teenage Viking who aspires to hunt dragons, but ends up the unlikely friend of a young dragon. Admission and parking are free, and visitors should bring blankets and/or lawn chairs for sitting on the lawn. Warm clothing is recommended, and visitors are welcome to bring picnics and movie snacks.

Future movies are planned for May 7 and June 4. Also this weekend, bring your guitar for free lessons on Sunday, April 3, at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Visitors can also enjoy the Great Park Farmers Market on Sunday, with locally-grown produce, artisan wares and gourmet food trucks.

Movie on the Lawn: Chicken Run

Chicken movie and chicken sandwiches this Saturday at the Great Park

IRVINE – The Great Park has teamed up with Chick-fil-A at Woodbury Town Center to organize a chicken-themed tweet-up at this Saturday’s Movie on the Lawn. Twitter users who sign up to follow both @ocgreatpark and @woodburycfa before this weekend’s showing of “Chicken Run” at the Great Park will receive a free chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-A.

The Great Park’s Movie on the Lawn series continues with Saturday’s showing of “Chicken Run,” an Academy Award-winning movie for all ages. The showing is free and open to the public, and begins at 8 p.m. this Saturday, June 26.

To sign up for a free Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich, first sign-up or sign-in to Twitter. Follow BOTH @ocgreatpark and @woodburycfa by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 25, 2010 (deadline) and your RSVP will be automatically received. For existing followers, if you are already following BOTH @ocgreatpark and @woodburycfa, your spot will be automatically reserved. Chick-fil-A will also have sandwiches for sale at the movie, so everyone can enjoy dinner and a show.

“Chicken Run” is a mixture of comedy and adventure, starring Rocky, a rooster from America, who crash-lands at an English farm and finds romance with a hen named Ginger. Together they devise a plan to escape the chicken farm.

Admission to the Great Park Movie on the Lawn “Chicken Run” and parking are free. Weather permitting. Warm clothing is recommended. Bring your beach chair and blanket. The Great Park is located off the 5 Freeway and Sand Canyon in Irvine.

Summer Movie on the Lawn Series Kicks off with ‘Star Trek’

The Great Park Movie on the Lawn series brings a great space adventure to the great outdoors

IRVINE– Watch the U.S.S. Enterprise fly through the galaxy as you sit under the stars at the Great Park Movie on the Lawn this Saturday. The Great Park Movie on the Lawn summer series starts this May 15th at 8:00 p.m. with the Academy Award winning 2009 hit Star Trek (PG-13).
