Alfonso Jassogarcia, a 40-year-old man, pleaded guilty last Friday to fatally shooting his neighbor in Santa Ana.

Jassogarcia was immediately sentenced to 18 years to life in prison. However, he was given 1,401 days credit behind bars, which took almost four years off his sentence.

Jassogarcia pleaded guilty to a felony charge of second-degree murder with a sentencing enhancement for the personal use of a gun in the fatal shooting of 45-year-old Jose Luis Solis, back on March 26, 2021.

The shooting took place just before 9 p.m. at 3126 W. First St. in a mobile home park, acording to the SAPD.

When the responding police officers arrived at the location they found Solis, the victim, with gunshot wounds to his head and upper body.

Jassogarcia and Solis were neighbors who got into some sort of dispute, but police investigators were not able to determine what caused the dispute.

Jassogarcia later drove to the SAPD’s headquarters and turned himself in that night.

  1. Shoulda taken the bus. They’ll impound his car and charge him 18 years of storage fees when he gets out.
