Former Santa Ana City Council Member Claudia Alvarez has pulled papers to run for the Superior Court, in District 5. She also served on the Rancho Santiago Community College District’s Board of Trustees and currently works as a prosecutor for the OCDA, Todd Spitzer.

Alvarez ran for May of Santa Ana in 2020 and came in second behind Vince Sarmiento who only got 35% of the vote.

Here are all the candidates for District 5 of the State Superior Court:

  • Claudia C. Alvarez, (no proposed ballot title yet, had not qualified for ballot as of March 8)
  • Daniel (Dan) Espinosa, (no proposed ballot title yet, had not qualified for ballot as of March 8)
  • Michael Jones, (no proposed ballot title yet, had not qualified for ballot as of March 8)
  • Kimberly La Salle, (no proposed ballot title yet, had not qualified for ballot as of March 8)

Note that the candidates must obtain enough nomination signatures to qualify for the ballot. So far none has.
