Stuart Lorence Oki, a 38-year-old man from Baldwin Park, pleaded guilty on Thursday and was sentenced to six years in prison for burglaries at UC Irvine and in Costa Mesa, which he committed while he was out on bail.

Oki pleaded guilty to felony charges of four counts of receiving stolen property and a count of vandalism, as well as a count of misdemeanor identity theft in the UC Irvine burglaries. He was sentenced to two years in jail and received 372 days credit for that case, which means he will serve about one more year of that sentence.

Oki was also charged with burglaries in Costa Mesa, while he was awaiting trial in the UCI case. In that case Oki pleaded guilty to two felony counts of burglary and a misdemeanor count of identity theft. As part of the plea deal, multiple sentencing enhancements for committing a crime while out on bail and misdemeanor identity theft were dismissed. He was sentenced to six years in prison for that case and received 240 days credit behind bars, which means he has just over five more years in prison to go.

Oki also wrapped up another case of identity theft on Thursday. He pleaded guilty to a felony count of identity theft against 10 or more victims and was sentenced to two years in prison, for a crime he committed in September of 2021. Oki also pleaded guilty in a separate case of possessing a controlled substance while armed with a gun in May of 2021 and he was sentenced to three years in prison for that case.

Oki also pleaded guilty to another burglary in April 2019 on Friday and was sentenced to four years in prison for that case.

Suffice to say that Oki will be out of circulation for a while.

Oki’s co-defendant in the UCI case, Cinthia Joane Vasquez, 34, of Hawaiian Gardens, pleaded guilty in May 2020 and was sentenced to seven years in prison.
