A police officer was patrolling the Irvine Spectrum Center when he saw a call holding at Costco (about a mile from the Spectrum) indicating a woman had her wallet stolen from her purse, according to the Irvine Police Department.

Knowing criminals like to go shopping with other people’s money, the officer proactively called the victim and asked her to monitor her credit card activity and let him know if her credit card was used.

Minutes later she said her card was used at the Nordstrom at the Spectrum. The officer located the suspect carrying bags of his “ill-gotten gains” and after a short discussion, the suspect dropped his bags and ran away.

Luckily, the officer was wearing his track shoes and was able to catch up to this roadrunner and take him to jail. Another win for the good guys!
