On Friday, December 1, 2023, at approximately 11:30 PM, Santa Ana Police Communications received multiple calls regarding a motorcyclist down at the intersection of Auto Mall Drive and Edinger Avenue.
SAPD Officers, along with the Orange County Fire Authority, responded to the scene. Upon arrival, OCFA transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital for medical treatment, where he remains in critical condition.
Based on the preliminary investigation, it is believed the motorcyclist was traveling west on Edinger Ave., approaching Auto Mall Dr. As the motorcyclist rode through the intersection, he lost control and collided with the center median. It is unknown if alcohol is a factor in this collision. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
