On Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 8:18 P.M., Santa Ana Detention Facility Correctional Officers observed an inmate within her jail cell who appeared to be in medical distress.

Orange County Fire Authority medics responded to the jail and rendered first-aid. The inmate was immediately transported to a local hospital.

Despite efforts from medical professionals at the hospital, the inmate was pronounced deceased at 9:11 P.M.
 
The Orange County Coroner’s Office identified the decedent as Tasha Monique Woods (41) of Arizona.
 
The incident is being investigated by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

  1. What’s to reply. As usual the reporting here sucks. No facts, no nothing other than someone died.

    1. We reported what the SAPD posted in their press release. Your animus should be focused on the SAPD. However in their defense they probably cannot be very forthcoming as this case will no doubt end up in litigation.
