The entire Santa Ana Unified School District community is heartbroken by this senseless act of violence that took the life of our third-grade student Matthew Farias, of Hoover Elementary School. Our thoughts are with our student’s family, along with the families of all others affected by this incident.

Our District Crisis Response Team has been supporting students and staff at his school throughout. We are also encouraging anyone in our District who needs additional counseling support to call the District’s Mental Health Helpline (657) 290-9527. We offer our sincerest condolences to Matthew’s family and the affected areas.
