A pedestrian was struck and killed by a freight train on Monday night at 11:53 p.m., at 17th Street and Lincoln Avenue, in Santa Ana, according to the O.C. Register.

The pedestrian was identified as Christine Cunningham, born on 10/03/1979, according to the OC Coroner.

The pedestrian was struck by a freight train at , a news videographer reported from the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, Gutierrez said.

The pedestrian appeared to be a male, the news videographer said. It was not known whether the investigation will affect the morning commute when Metrolink trains use the same tracks.
