Two burglars from Long Beach used a Yellow Crow Bar to smash the plate glass window of West Beach Liquor, in Seal Beach.

Unfortunately for these burglars, later identified as “Zoryon and Marcus” a Seal Beach Police Officer was sitting down the street in his patrol car, minding his own business and counting down the hours before the end of his graveyard shift.

The police officer did a quick drive by the liquor store when he heard the store’s alarm blaring. He found himself following a Black Nissan Altima exiting the parking lot at a high rate of speed. Instead of turning on to PCH however, Zoryon drove his car through a red light and into a neighborhood known as “The Hill.”

Zoryon made a quick left on Coastline, probably thinking he would lose the police officer. However Zoryon quickly realized that if you drive up the 100 block of Coastline you quickly arrive at a dead-end – a cul de sac.

Zoryon tried to make a u-turn at the end of Coastline but by then the police officers had arrived and he was met by the headlights of a 2022 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor and two police officers from the Seal Beach Police Department. Zoryon and Marcus had no choice but to surrender.

The police officers recovered a pile of unused scratchers hidden on Zoryon and Marcus, as well as the yellow crow bar and a few other items of evidence.

The Seal Beach Police Department would like to offer this PSA for people who come to Seal Beach to commit crime:

1. Lotto Tickets should be paid for with cash, not a crow bar.
2. Don’t Steal In Seal
3. Winning $10.00 in the Lotto is not worth the risk of getting a Felony added to your record. And with a 1:2.9 million chance at the Grand Prize…it’s definitely not worth it.
