On Saturday, observant Irvine police officers stopped two men for riding bicycles at night without the proper bicycle lighting equipment and for riding their bikes against the flow of traffic.

The men committed these California Vehicle Code violations while a blow torch was hanging on the side of one of the bikes. That is not the best way to blend into the neighborhood if you are up to no good!

The proactive police officers determined the men had just stolen copper pipe and wiring from a nearby building.

Samuel Marroquin Verduzco, 39, of Santa Ana, and Jaime Ojedamora, 49, of Tustin, ended their night at Orange County Jail. They were charged with burglary, conspiracy, possession of narcotics, and possession of burglary tools.
