Suspect arrested on drug and weapons charges in Fountain Valley

Nightshift police officers arrested a suspicious subject for various narcotics and weapons violations, according to the Fountain Valley Police Department.

The suspect appeared to be in a limo emblazoned with a sticker labeled “Hudson Dance Academy,” which is based in Fountain Valley. That academy appears to train young girls. Check out their Instagram feed here.

Perhaps the suspect fashioned himself to be some sort of security for the female dancers?

The weapons seized by the police included black nunchucks, a black flexible baton and what appears to be a black switchblade.

However, nunchucks are no longer illegal in CA thanks to SB 827.

The baton though is still illegal per Penal Code § 22210 PC. Penal Code § 22210 PC makes it illegal to manufacture, import, sell, give, or possess leaded canes or batons (or other weapons in this category). The offense can be charged as a misdemeanor or a felony. A conviction is punishable by up to 3 years in jail or prison.

And the switchblade is still illegal per Penal Code § 21510 PC. If you carry a switchblade concealed on your person, you could be charged instead with a violation of Penal Code 21310, which prohibits carrying a concealed “dirk” or “dagger.”3 If you are convicted of carrying a concealed dirk or dagger, you could face up to 3 years in state prison.

The drugs seized by the Fountain Valley Police appear to be several vaping devices. The police did not reveal what the narcotics in question were.
