One of our readers has reported that a male hit and run driver in a dark SUV, plowed into three alleged prostitutes, killing one, at about 12:15 a.m. this morning. This happened on Hazard Street 1 block west of Harbor.
Paramedics put the deceased victim in an ambulance but they stayed at the scene. Apparently they were waiting to transfer the victim to the O.C. Coroner.
Our reader was awakened with a loud noise and then screams and she went to investigate. By the time she got dressed and went outside, the police cars, ambulances, firetrucks, etc were there.
The hit and run accident occurred in an area known for prostitution.

They hide between the cars on bewley 11th st and hazard ad sapd don’t do shit about it

Very sad and unfortunate, yet as a member who drives in this area, I’ve been frightened many, many times by the multiple occurances when these women pop out of nowhere! As mentioned by a previous commentator, the appear to hide between parked cars. The street is very dark. While this is unfortunate, PLEASE SANTA ANA, enforce to clean up our streets. This is a family neighborhood.
My condolences to the family……. regardless of her profession she was a woman who lost her life possibly a mother who most likely already went through a hard life and was just trying to get her life together the only way she knows how like so many of them out here! The cars fly up and down Hazard they fly up and down Harbor when they clearly see all the girls out!

They hit and run was right in front of my house… This isn’t the first time this happens. The streets I live in are dangerous . There was even a drive-by right beside my house… Poor young man was shot and killed .
its so sad to know that people are losing the lives and its all because all the prostitution that is going on and the police doesn’t do nothing to stop this. If you were to go walking at any time they will probably be their. This needs to stop!
