Arrest made after a man was killed near the Asian Garden Mall in Westminster

Yesterday, at approximately 5:45 AM, police officers responded to the 9200 block of Bolsa Avenue (at the Asian Garden Mall) regarding calls about a male who was down, bleeding from the head, according to the Westminster Police Department.

The police officers arrived at the location along with members of the Orange County Fire Authority to find a male down with serious injuries.

The male was pronounced dead at the scene and a homicide investigation began.

Westminster Police Detectives along with Crime Scene Investigators arrived and continued the investigation throughout the day.

Using investigative leads and a lengthy canvass of the area, Detectives identified a suspect and located him at a nearby shopping center.

The suspect, later identified as Hoa Le, was taken into custody without incident. The motive for the attack is unclear at this time.

Le will be booked into Orange County Jail for PC 187(a) – Murder. There currently does not appear to be any outstanding suspects or further threat to the public.
