On Saturday, April 22, 2023 at approximately 10:50 p.m., Orange Police Department officers responded to the area of Chapman Avenue and Rancho Santiago Blvd. regarding a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a bicycle.

The City of Orange Fire Department also responded and declared the bicyclist deceased.

The bicyclist was a male adult from Orange. He was traveling north across Chapman Avenue, between Hamlin and Rancho Santiago, when he was struck by a vehicle driving east. The driver, a male adult from Yorba Linda, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor for the driver of the vehicle.

The Orange Police Department’s Traffic Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
