The Orange County Auditor-Controller’s Office has released the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR), also known as the Citizens’ Report, a summarized guide to the in-depth County Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). Both reports reflect information from the 2020-21 Fiscal Year which began on July 1, 2020 and ended on June 30, 2021.

“I am pleased to present the Citizens’ Report for the County of Orange,” said Orange County Auditor-Controller Frank Davies. “This report once again reflects that the County of Orange continues to be in sound financial position, with long term debt down 5% compared to last year and an increase in total net position 29% from FY 2019-20. I hope that this report will help everyone understand our complex County finances in a simple yet engaging format.”

Each year the Auditor-Controller’s Office chooses a County agency to highlight as part of the report’s theme; this report features the Orange County Probation Department, headed by Chief Steven Sentman.

“It is an honor that the Orange County Auditor-Controller’s Department has chosen to highlight Orange County Probation Department as their featured agency for this year’s Citizens’ Report” said Chief Sentman. “As the Chief Probation Officer, I am proud of the hard work of our agency.”

The prior report, for FY 2019-20, once again received the award for outstanding achievement in popular annual financial reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the 18th consecutive year.
