On Friday, around 8 a.m., police officers responded to an injury hit and run traffic collision in the area of the 405 freeway offramp and Bristol Street, according to the Costa Mesa Police Department.

The driver had fled the scene leaving the victim with minor injuries.

With a vehicle description and some quick investigative work, police officers located the suspect about an hour later and made the arrest.

A hit and run can be challenging and it can take time to identify a suspect, but in this case the perseverance and experience of the police officers paid off.
