Cantera has announced, via an email newsletter, that they are going to be going out of business at the end of the month.

Cantera is in the Santa Ana Artists Village, at 211 N. Broadway, in the historic Santora building.  They have wonderful artwork and furniture – much of it from Mexico.  One of their woodcarvers is in fact going back to Mexico and his furniture is currently on sale at great prices.

This is a sad occasion to note here – and Cantera may be the first of many of Santa Ana’s art galleries to close, at the Santora, where a number of artists are behind on their rent, to building owner Mike Harrah.

Here is Cantera’s announcement:

After 5+ wonderful years in the Santa Ana Artists Village will be closing our doors at the end of January.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved with Cantera over the years. To our loyal customers, talented artists, devoted followers, supportive family and friends – THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! This wonderful journey would not have been possible without all of you.

As we wind things down over the next couple of weeks we would like to make everyone aware of the following:

• Inventory Clearance Sale!!: All remaining furniture, home accessories and folk art (exceptions include artist work on consignment) will be marked down at least 50%. Markdowns on everything else including jewelry, handbags, and original art varies. Come in for all the details. All sales are final and as-is.

• Open Sundays from Noon to 4 PM: We are opening on Sunday’s the following two weeks to allow additional time to peruse and purchase!

We hope you will take this opportunity to visit us one last time and get a great deal on handcrafted home furnishings, home accessories, and much more!

Thank you once again for all your continued support and patronage. See you soon!

Your friends at Cantera.
