SANTA ANA, Calif. (June 30, 2024)—Santa Ana Police Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation resulting in the death of a 20-year-old man.

On Sunday, June 30, 2024, at approximately 12:28 a.m., Santa Ana Police Communications received reports of a shooting in the area of N. Bristol Street and W. Memory Lane.

Officers responded to the scene and located a 20-year-old male, identified as Fernando Manuel Lopez of Santa Ana, lying in the southbound lanes of Bristol St. suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his upper torso.

Despite life-saving measures, Orange County Fire Authority pronounced Fernando deceased at the scene.

At this time, the motive surrounding the shooting is undetermined. Homicide Detectives are attempting to identify and locate additional witnesses who can provide information about the homicide.
