A juvenile on an e-motorcycle collided with a vehicle in Fountain Valley

Police officers recently responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a juvenile cyclist, who was riding a Surron e-motorcycle in the roadway, according to the Fountain Valley Police Department.

Luckily, the juvenile was wearing a helmet and only sustained minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.

PSA: E-motorcycles, such as Surrons and Talarias, are legally classified as off road motorcycles and cannot be driven on public roadways or in public spaces. Riders contacted operating these types of illegal e-motorcycles are subject to citations, fines, and impounds.

Reminder to parents and guardians: Please talk to your children about the dangers of reckless riding. Research the type of e-bike or e-motorcycle you are planning to purchase for your child and determine if it is legal for them to operate. Remind them to wear their helmets, they don’t work if they’re hung on the handlebars!

Accidents like this one are a grave reminder of the dangers of illegal e-motorcycle use, especially by unlicensed individuals who do not understand or follow the rules of the roadway. These actions can lead to severe injury and even death. Let’s work together to keep our roadways safe!
