Yesterday, a police officer responded to an identity theft report, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

A victim’s credit card was stolen earlier in the day, leading to fraudulent charges popping up in town. With a quick and thorough follow-up, the officer traced the suspect’s trail to a store where the stolen card was used multiple times.

After a diligent investigation and reviewing surveillance footage, the officer identified a potential suspect residing right here in Huntington Beach. Officers wasted no time and visited the suspect’s home, arresting the individual as it was the same person caught on camera.

The swift police action prevents further harm and sends a clear message that the HBPD is committed to protecting the community from such crimes.
