As part of an ongoing effort to combat retail theft, the Huntington Beach Police Department conducted a proactive enforcement operation in the Bella Terra Mall area on Friday, January 12, 2024, and Sunday, January 21, 2024.
The operation resulted in the arrests of ten suspects for various criminal charges, including felonies.
Stolen property was recovered, and the following individuals were booked into the HBPD jail:
- DAVIS, Julie, a 44-year-old resident of Orange
- DOMINGO, Daniel, a 35-year-old resident of Anaheim
- DUNNE, David, a 41-year-old resident of Los Alamitos
- GUZMAN, Ricky, a 38-year-old resident of Garden Grove
- HOANG, Lao, a 69-year-old resident of Irvine
- HURLEY, Kraig, a 33-year-old resident of Garden Grove
- SERNA, Marquis, a 29-year-old resident of Anaheim
- SPONHEIM, David, a 40-year-old resident of Los Alamitos
- WATSON, Jennifer, a 51-year-old resident of Anaheim
- YOUNG, Nicholas, a 35-year-old resident of Orange
In preparation for this operation, the HBPD collaborated with business stakeholders in the Bella Terra area, including Nordstrom Rack, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Costco Wholesale, REI, Kohl’s, Ulta Beauty, Old Navy, and Burlington. The ongoing partnership and collaboration with these businesses are critical in developing a comprehensive plan to enhance public safety.
The HBPD remains committed to fostering a safe and secure community. Operations like these highlight our dedication to protecting businesses and residents from the impact of retail theft.
Working in partnership with the Orange County District Attorney’s (OCDA) Organized Retail Theft Taskforce, DJM Property Management, and loss prevention staff, HBPD Detectives from the Special Investigations and General Investigation Units executed the enforcement operations that led to these significant arrests.
