Luis Angel Martinez Gomez, 24, of Santa Ana, was arrested last week as he left the Central Justice Center for selling narcotics in Irvine and for violating his probation, according to the Irvine Police Department.
This is his second arrest for narcotics sales since May. He was transported a short distance to the Orange County Jail, where he was booked yet again.
If you sell drugs in Irvine, you can expect the IPD Specialized Investigations Unit (SIU) to arrest you.
Luis Angel Martinez Gomez was charged under California Health and Safety Code §11351 — possession of a controlled substance for sale. This is a felony offense.
Penalties he may face:
- 2 to 4 years in county jail
- Fines up to $20,000
- Probation revocation, which could add more jail time
- Sentence enhancements due to:
- Prior drug sales convictions
- Being on probation at the time of arrest
- Possible large quantities of drugs involved
Given his repeat offenses and probation violation, he is likely to face harsher sentencing than a first-time offender.
