Santa Ana man arrested for repeatedly exposing himself to kids at a middle school

Since September of this year, three separate victims (students of Utt Middle School) reported a male subject in a vehicle exposing himself as they walked to school.

Yesterday, Tustin Police Department personnel conducted surveillance to apprehend the suspect and prevent any further incidents.

The surveillance was conducted in the area around Utt Middle School and in the process, officers located a vehicle that matched the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect was spotted pulling up to a student and was seen exposing his genitals. The suspect was followed away from the scene and a traffic stop was conducted. Several of the victims positively identified the suspect and he was subsequently arrested.

Christopher Scott Shelton (36 years old) of Santa Ana was arrested and booked at Orange County Jail for CPC 314.1 (indecent exposure) and 647.6 (child annoyance).

We are seeking the public’s help to identify other potential victims. If you have seen Shelton and/or his vehicle near the school, please contact School Resource Officer Hense at (714) 573-3200.
