Santa Ana cell phone robbery and kidnapping suspect arrested

On Thursday afternoon, patrol officers responded to a robbery at the Boost Mobile store located at 1150 S. Bristol St., according to the SAPD.

The investigation revealed the suspect entered the business, demanded the employee lock the front door, and forced the employee to the rear office where merchandise was taken.

With the assistance of Duke, a police helicopter, officers conducted an area check and located the suspect approximately 10 blocks away.

The firearm, which was determined to be a replica gun, and the stolen merchandise were recovered.

Robbery Detectives determined the suspect committed a similar robbery at a different cellphone store earlier this week. In both incidents, the victims positively identified the suspect.

The suspect was subsequently arrested and booked at the Santa Ana Jail for robbery and kidnapping charges.
