Over the weekend, two men had a “pipe dream” of making some quick cash by stealing copper from a building at the Great Park.

As they left the area in their car stuffed with treasure, an eagle-eyed Irvine police officer spotted the pair and stopped them. Imagine spending hours prepping, cutting, and stealing to have your work go right down the tubes!

The Irvine police officers traded the suspects’ stolen precious metals for nickel-plated carbon steel handcuffs and gave the pair a ride to the OC Jail, where they were booked for possession of stolen property and conspiracy.

Crime does not pay in Irvine!
