June 24, 2024) – Santa Ana Police Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation resulting in the death of a 70-year-old woman.

On Sundny, June 23, 2024, at approximately 11:53 p.m., Santa Ana Police Communications received a call from a man reporting that he had shot his wife inside their residence at the 2300 block of N. Towner Street.

Responding officers located Nancy Kort, 70-years-old, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to her upper torso.

Despite lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced deceased at the scene by Orange County Fire Aulboiity.

John Kort, 85-years-old, was arrested at the scene on charges of rnurder.

Preliminary investigation by Homicide Detectives suggests tbat the incident arose from a domestic violence altercation between John Kort and his wife, Nancy.

The circumstances surrounding this incident remain under active investigation.
