Irvine burglary suspect who targeted women's apartments and stole panties and credit cards arrested

Since May, Irvine police detectives have investigated multiple residential burglaries in the 3900 block of Parkview Lane in the Park West Apartment Community.

It appears the suspect chose apartment homes occupied by young women. The suspect took undergarments, cash, small items, and credit card information during the burglaries.

IPD Detectives have conducted intensive surveillance in the community and worked relentlessly to identify a suspect.

Detectives recently identified a possible suspect from a fraudulent credit card purchase made on a victim’s credit card.

Yesterday, detectives served a search warrant at an apartment within the community and arrested Trung Thuan Tran,19, of Irvine.

He was booked at Orange County Jail for burglary and unauthorized use of another person’s credit card.

Detectives believe Tran could be connected to the other burglaries in the area. They are analyzing evidence and information collected yesterday to determine if Tran is responsible for the other cases.
