A video of a protest at Santa Ana Mayoral candidate Alfredo Amezcua’s law office has emerged on YouTube.
You can watch it above.
The protest was led by Latino rights activist Alex Vega.
Vega tells me that many in the community are upset about Amezcua’s handling of their legal cases. Vega has been promoting these “victims” in regular ads in a local Spanish language newspaper.
Vega is planning to put the information in a blog. He said he also received a “cease and desist” letter from Amezcua’s attorneys, who are based in Los Angeles.
Vega is undeterred. He says that Amezcua is having trouble raising money and that he is only collecting donations under $99, leading some in the community to refer to Amezcua as “99 Al.”

99 Al doesn't sound bad from an uniformed voters perspective.
It implies that he's getting donation from average folk, not business or special interest groups.
Keep on using that term and It will help Al.
Supposedly, Obama made tons of soft money from the average folk too.
Jose,
Good point. It will take a lot of $99 donations to beat Pulido, but Amezcua is working hard. It should continue to be an interesting race to cover.
