There are now 1,880 COVID-19 cases in Santa Ana as of June 15

The OC Health Care Agency reported a total of 8,759 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Orange County and 1,880 cases in Santa Ana, on June 15. The Santa Ana case numbers don’t include infected inmates in County jails.

There were 221 new cases reported on June 15, in Orange County. No new deaths were reported. To date 221 victims have died in Orange County. There are currently 315 victims in local hospitals and 144 of them are in Intensive Care Units. To date an estimated 4,138 victims have recovered.

• Garden Grove reports 504 cases
• Huntington Beach reports 438 cases
• Orange reports 382 cases
• Fullerton reports 331 cases
• Buena Park reports 261 cases
• Irvine reports 242 cases
• Newport Beach reports 179 cases
• Westminster reports 193 cases
• Tustin reports 158 cases
• Costa Mesa reports 174 cases
• Fountain Valley reports 79 cases

The California Department of Public Health reported has 151,452 confirmed cases to date, and 2,868,182 tests have been conducted in California as of June 15. There have been 5,089 COVID-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

The CDC reports these national cases:

• TOTAL CASES: 2,085,769
• 21,957 New Cases
• TOTAL DEATHS: 115,644
• 373 New Deaths

Health Care Worker Infection Rates

As of June 14, local health departments have reported 12,237 confirmed positive cases in health care workers and 74 deaths statewide. 

Protect Yourself and Your Family

Every person has a role to play. Protecting yourself and your family comes down to common sense: 

• Staying home except for essential needs/activities following local and state public health guidelines when patronizing approved businesses. To the extent that such sectors are re-opened, Californians may leave their homes to work at, patronize, or otherwise engage with those businesses, establishments or activities.
• Practicing social distancing.
• Wearing a cloth face mask when out in public.
• Washing hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds.
• Avoiding touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
• Covering a cough or sneeze with your sleeve, or disposable tissue. Wash your hands afterward.
• Avoiding close contact with people who are sick.
• Staying away from work, school or other people if you become sick with respiratory symptoms like fever and cough.
• Following guidance from public health officials.
