The Voice of OC will sue to compel release of Drakodaidis letter

Norberto Santana, the Editor in Chief at the Voice of OC, said today on KPCC’s Airtalk that the Voice of OC is going to sue the County of Orange to compel the release of the letter written by “Alisa Drakodaidis, which reportedly contains allegations of improper actions by several county supervisors and District Attorney Tony Rackauckas.”

Orange County officials are now arguing that the public should not see the details of the Drakodaidis letter because “the letter contains personnel information, the disclosure of which would constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy,” according to the Voice of OC.

  • Congratulation to the Voice of Orange County for pursuing investigative journalism and not being just another example of an agency reporting stories.

This will gather readership and financial contributors. No one is interested in just another news agency. Rather.... through investigative reporting make the news.

From the Voice of Orange County home page:

    Welcome to Voice of OC.

We are a non-profit investigative news agency dedicated to in-depth coverage of Orange County government and politics.

Voice of OC reporters deploy through a geographically based beat structure with each reporter covering several Orange County cities. In many respects, Voice of OC reporters cover their beats like good municipal reporters have always covered city halls. But our approach goes significantly beyond a standard newsroom municipal coverage plan.

First and foremost, Voice of OC focuses on accountability in government, not the process of government. This means that our stories are driven not by meetings or events, but by the deep understanding our reporters and editors have of the issues that local governments face.

    • "Rather…. through investigative reporting make the news"...... Hmmmmmm

I am planing to file a lawsuit against the dentists to make them release secret data on unnecessary X-Rays and Root Canals.

May be you should submit your records voluntarily Dr. Amalgam
