The suspect in a fatal Santa Ana hit and run accident has turned himself in

Advisory: UPDATE – Suspect Involved In Fatal Hit & Run Collision Turned Himself In To Police – Now In Custody

Today shortly after 10 am the suspect’s family brought suspect Roberto M. Garcia to Santa Ana PD headquarters and turned himself into Traffic Investigators. He is currently being interviewed as to his involvement.

Suspect Roberto Mateo Garcia has been booked into the SAPD Jail for felony hit/run collision causing great bodily injury or death. Suspect’s vehicle was located in the city of Anaheim.

Location: 1100 W. Warner Avenue

Suspect: Roberto Mateo Garcia (54) Santa Ana

Description: Male, Hispanic, 5’02, 145lbs., brown hair, brown eyes.

Vehicle Description: 2003 Ford Explorer Sport, two door white, license plate: 5WHF583 (actual vehicle in photo attached).

Synopsis: On 7/05/2017, Garcia was driving the above described vehicle when he struck and killed a pedestrian. Garcia immediately fled the scene in the involved vehicle. Officers were unable to locate Garcia or the vehicle.
