The SAPD has arrested two men in connection with the murder of a woman yesterday

Advisory: UPDATE – SAPD DETECTIVES MAKE AN ARREST IN 09/18/17 HOMICIDE CASE

Suspect 1: Mark Lewis Amacher (39) Santa Ana
Suspect 2: Andrew Buck (33) Santa Ana

On 09/18/17 SAPD Homicide Detectives arrested/booked Mark Lewis Amacher at the Santa Ana PD Jail for the charge of murder. The second suspect who was detained, Andrew Buck, was booked on an unrelated felony warrant for burglary. Victim’s identification is still pending family notification by the Orange County Coroner’s Office.

– ORIGINAL MESSAGE –

On Monday, September 18, 2017, at 2:50 AM, the Santa Ana Police Department received a call stating a woman had been hurt. Officers responded to 215 South Birch Street #A and found an adult female deceased inside the apartment. Officers took an adult male into custody pending further investigation.

The decedent is currently listed as Jane Doe pending identification by the Orange County Coroner’s Office. Homicide detectives are preparing a search warrant for the location in furtherance of the investigation.

SAPD PIO is in route to scene.
