The City of Santa Ana is canceling its Fourth of July Celebration, the next Garage and Yard Sale Weekend in June and other special events through July 31, City Manager Kristine Ridge announced today.
Additionally, all recreational programming has been canceled and no event permits will be issued through the end of July. The Santa Ana Public Library’s summer reading program won’t have in-person events this year, but it will offer online activities.
These measures are intended to protect public health and discourage gatherings this summer in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The canceled events and programs include:
• Garage and Yard Sale Weekend on June 6-7
• Fourth of July Celebration
• Shakespeare in the Park on July 23
• Parks and Recreation programs and classes (except for senior meals distribution)
• Sunset at the Zoo
The City will reevaluate the situation to determine the status of events and programs planned for the rest of the year.
