The 42nd annual Fiestas Patrias festival returns to Santa Ana on Sept. 17-18

SANTA ANA, Calif. – The City of Santa Ana’s 42nd annual Fiestas Patrias festival celebrating our community’s vibrant Latino and Hispanic culture is back after a two-year absence during the pandemic!

Fiestas Patrias is taking place on Saturday, September 17, and Sunday, September 18, 2022. The festivities begin at 12 p.m. each day on Flower Street between Civic Center Drive and Santa Ana Boulevard. This annual tradition celebrates Santa Ana’s vibrant Hispanic and Latino culture with musical performances, delicious food, vendors, activities, exciting carnival rides for children of all ages, and a beer garden for those 21 and over.

On Saturday, September 17, the City of Santa Ana with the Consulate of Mexico will host the annual El Grito Ceremony on the festival’s main stage located on Flower Street beginning at 7 p.m. The ceremony honors the traditional call to arms on the eve of Mexican Independence Day. It is a massive, synchronized call that dates back to 1810 and celebrates the anniversary of the fight for Mexican Independence.

Performers:

Saturday, Sept. 17: Mexican singer Beatriz Adriana will be performing on the festival’s main stage. Beatriz Adriana is best known as a ranchera singer. She has a recognized artistic trajectory in Mexico and Latin America. At the age of 13, she signed her first record contract, and two years later, she made her debut on the big screen by appearing in the film “La Comadrita.” She shot to fame after obtaining first place at the first Ranchera Song Festival in 1982, with the theme “El cofrecito” by musician and composer Juan Zaizar. In 2007, she participated in the Azteca Television program called Disco de Oro, hosted by José Luis Rodríguez (“El Puma”) and María Inés Guerra. Her most recent album, “Que No Me Faltes”, was released earlier this year.

Sunday, Sept. 18: El Chapo de Sinaloa will take the stage on Sunday. As a Regional Mexican singer and actor, el Chapo de Sinaloa started out professionally as a Norteño singer but has since been primarily focused on Banda, as well as some Mariachi songs. He began in the 1990s and since released over a dozen romantic albums, which have been successful both in Mexico and the United States.

El 42o festival anual de Fiestas Patrias regresa el 17-18 de septiembre

Los músicos Beatriz Adriana y El Chapo de Sinaloa son los artistas principales.

SANTA ANA – ¡El 42º festival anual de Fiestas Patrias de la Ciudad de Santa Ana que celebra la vibrante cultura latina e hispana de nuestra comunidad regresa este mes después de una ausencia de dos años durante la pandemia!

Fiestas Patrias se lleva a cabo el sábado, 17 y domingo 18 de septiembre, 2022. Las festividades comenzarán ambos días a las 12 del mediodía sobre la Calle Flower, entre Civic Center Drive y Santa Ana Boulevard. Esta tradición anual celebra la vibrante cultura Mexicana de Santa Ana con entretenimiento que incluye artistas de primer nivel, comida deliciosa, artesanías tradicionales, actividades interactivas con grandes juegos mecánicos para niños de todas las edades, y un jardín cervecero (sólo para adultos mayor de 21 años de edad.)

El sábado, 17 de septiembre, la Ciudad de Santa Ana en colaboración con el Consulado de México será el anfitrión de la ceremonia anual del Grito de Independencia, comenzando a las 7 de la noche en el escenario principal del festival, localizado en la Calle Flower. La ceremonia representa la tradicional llamada al levantamiento en armas en la víspera del día de la independencia de México. El llamado masivo y sincronizado se remonta a 1810 y celebra el aniversario de la lucha por la independencia de México.

sábado 17 de septiembre: La cantante mexicana Beatriz Adriana se presentará en el escenario principal del festival. Beatriz Adriana es mejor conocida como cantante de rancheras. Tiene una reconocida trayectoria artística en México y Latinoamérica. A los 13 años firmó su primer contrato discográfico y dos años después debutó en la pantalla grande al aparecer en la película “La Comadrita”. Saltó a la fama tras obtener el primer lugar en el primer Festival de la Canción Ranchera en 1982, con el tema “El cofrecito” del músico y compositor Juan Zaizar. En 2007 participó en el programa de TV Azteca llamado Disco de Oro, conducido por José Luis Rodríguez (“El Puma”) y María Inés Guerra. Su álbum más reciente, “Que No Me Faltes”, fue lanzado a principios de este año.

domingo 18 de septiembre: El Chapo de Sinaloa subirá al escenario el domingo. Como cantante y actor de música regional mexicana, el Chapo de Sinaloa comenzó profesionalmente como cantante norteño, pero desde entonces se ha centrado principalmente en la banda, así como en algunas canciones de mariachi. Comenzó en la década de 1990 y desde entonces lanzó más de una docena de álbumes románticos, que han tenido éxito tanto en México como en Estados Unidos.
