SAUSD School Board candidate Mark McLoughlin won’t be allowed to lie to the voters after all

In the Santa Ana Unified School District board race, with three seats open, candidate Bruce Bauer challenged fellow Santa Ana Planning Commissioner Mark McLoughlin’s designation as “Educator/Business Owner,” according to the O.C. Register.

The Orange County Registrar of Voters upheld Bauer’s challenge, and McLoughlin changed his designation to “Education Business Advisor.”

But the point of all this is that McLoughlin tried to lie to the voters. He is not an educator, period.

Let me tell you who this guy really is. He is the man who stopped the City of Santa Ana from finishing the Santiago Creek Bike Trail – and my sources tell me that he did this because he didn’t want “certain people” riding their bikes by his swanky house.

McLoughlin was one of the main forces behind the recall of former SAUSD Trustee Nativo Lopez. They recalled him primarily because Lopez was advocating to build a public school near McLoughlin’s mostly white northern Santa Ana neighborhood. The night that McLoughlin and his pals were celebrating the success of the Lopez recall campaign they held a party at McLoughlin’s pad. A guy I know who is half-Latino was a volunteer on the Lopez recall campaign. He showed up that night and tried to join the festivities at McLoughlin’s home. But guess what? They wouldn’t let him in.

That is who McLoughlin is. It is disgusting that the Santa Ana Educators’ Association endorsed him. There are so many great candidates in the race for the SAUSD School Board this year and the teachers endorsed the liar McLoughlin?  Good grief.
