SAPD cites 87 residents for pedestrian traffic violations

SAPD Advisory: Police implementing program to educate the public about the laws governing pedestrian traffic on our roadways.

The Santa Ana Police Traffic Division is implementing a program to educate the public about the laws governing pedestrian traffic on our roadways. This program has begun with targeted enforcement of traffic laws relating to pedestrians in crosswalks. The program will continue into the coming weeks with increased enforcement of pedestrian traffic violations (i.e. pedestrian signals, jaywalking, etc.)

Today’s program was conducted in the area of Main at 15th and Main at Walnut. The enforcement was conducted between the hours of 8-10 am.

87 cites total and two vehicles impounds. One driver received a cite at both enforcement locations.
