Santa Ana businesses can get help from a Small Business Incentive Grant

The City of Santa Ana is offering a grant of $2,500 to $5,000 for Santa Ana-based microenterprises through the Santa Ana Small Business Incentive Program.

Applicants must qualify for the Small Business Incentive Grant. Details are available at www.santa-ana.org/SBIP.

Eligibility Qualifications

The program provides a reimbursement grant for eligible businesses on a first-come, first-served basis.

Grant amounts are up to $5,000 for Santa Ana businesses with a storefront or $2,500 for Santa Ana residents with businesses without a storefront.

Applicants must qualify according to the following:

Applicants must be a microenterprise (small business) in Santa Ana with 5 or fewer employees, including business owners.

A. Income Qualification – The business owner is determined to be low-income pursuant to HUD requirements. Income chart is available at: www.santa-ana.org/SBIP. Applicants must use total household size as their measure of eligibility. These income limits are determined annually by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

OR

B. Area Benefit Qualification – Business serves 51% Low- to Moderate-income residents based on proximity to neighborhoods and the goods or services it provides, as determined by City staff. If the City determines that your business serves at least 51% Low- to Moderate-Income residents, the business will be qualified.

NOTE: The Small Business Incentive Program is federally funded through the Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) Community Block Grant and applicants will be required to submit additional documentation.

CALIFICACIÓN DE BENEFICIOS DE ÁREA – El negocio atiende a 51% de residentes de ingresos bajos a moderados según la proximidad a los vecindarios y los bienes o servicios que proporciona, según lo determine el personal de la Ciudad. Si la Ciudad determina que su negocio atiende al menos al 51% de los residentes de ingresos bajos a moderados, el negocio calificará.

NOTA: El Programa de Incentivos para Pequeñas Empresas está financiado por el gobierno federal a través de la subvención comunitaria del Departamento de Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano (HUD) y los solicitantes deberán presentar documentación adicional.
