Rally in support of the proposed Anaheim homeless shelter set for 11/17 in Santa Ana

A rally will be taking place in Santa Ana on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, at 9 a.m., at the Orange County Hall of Administration, located at Building 19 at the Santa Ana Civic Center, in support of the proposed homeless shelter at Kraemer Place, in Anaheim.

The residents that live in the areas surrounding the location of the proposed homeless shelter have thus far shown up in great numbers to voice their opposition to the location of the shelter at several forums held over the past few months.

In additional to powerful public comment against the selected shelter site, the residents have distributed flyers, posted signs on front lawns and have brandished signs, banners and campaign buttons at public forums. These forums were designed to inform the public regarding how the proposed shelter might be operated and to listen to and address concerns of residents who resist the idea of a nearby homeless shelter.

The meeting organizer, Tim Houchen, is asking for supporters to bring signs and banners to the rally to demonstrate the need for the shelter with urgency to move forward with the existing plan and a favorable vote by the O.C. Board of Supervisors.

To donate materials for signs and banners or just have a question or suggestion, please contact Houchen at (213) 278-1467
