Malik Omar Malveaux, a 24-year-old Oakland man, was sentenced to 16 years in prison for pimping three underaged girls in Santa Ana. He pleaded guilty on Friday.

The felony charges included four counts each of human trafficking a minor and pandering with a minor, three counts of attempting to pimp a minor and one count each of criminal threats and pimping a minor.

Malveaux accepted a plea deal which resulted in the dismissal of sentencing enhancement allegations for human trafficking with force and fear of a minor.

SAPD police officers who were investigating local prostitution made contact with a 16-year-old just before 7 a.m. on March 9, 2019, at Harbor Boulevard at Hazard Avenue. The teenager was turned over to social workers for assistance. The teen’s tips led the police officers right to Malveaux, who was found about 8:15 a.m. the next day at a local motel.
