Here is additional information from the City of Santa Ana:

Celebrating its grand re-opening on June 12, 2010, Jerome Park and Recreation Center first opened to the public in 1968. The 14 acre park is named after Mr. William Jerome, a civic leader and former Councilmember and his father, Mr. W.C. Jerome, a former County Supervisor. Since it first opened, the 15,760 square foot recreation center has been the hub for sports and other leisure activities for the residents of Santa Ana.

In keeping with the needs of our growing community the Center was recently renovated. A new reception area now serves as the welcoming point where program information can be obtained. The Fitness Room will house the TKO Boxing Program as well as aerobics, kick boxing, and other classes. Classic ballet, ballet folklorico, hip hop, karate, yoga and tai chi are just a few of the classes that residents will be participating in at the Multi-Purpose room. The new gym is ready to host exciting basketball and volleyball games. Additionally, gymnastics, jiu jitsu and sports clinics will be offered as well. The pool will also open this summer for swimming classes, swim and water polo team events and recreational swimming.

A new component to the center is the Teen Space and Computer Lab, a space for teens to come together and socialize. The Teen Space will also serve as a satellite to the program currently offered at the Central Library that offers career exploration, mentoring, volunteer opportunities, Youth Health Ambassador training and a wide range of arts and cultural activities. Tutoring will also be provided along with computer classes and other technology related training.
