OCTA Board Members Chosen by City Selection Committee
Five members returning to the board and one new member will join OCTA
ORANGE – The City Selection Committee met Thursday and elections were held to appoint six members to the Orange County Transportation Authority Board of Directors, with five members being reappointed to the board and one new member being appointed to fill a vacancy.
The following appointments were made:
The City Selection Committee is comprised the mayors of each of Orange County’s 34 cities and is administered by the Clerk of the Board of Orange County. The committee makes appointment to regional boards and commissions like OCTA, the Local Agency Formation Commission and others.
The OCTA board is responsible for overseeing the transportation agency including the countywide bus and paratransit service, Metrolink rail service, the 91 Express Lanes, Measure M implementation, freeway, street and road improvements projects and motorist services. The board is comprised of 17 elected members and the Caltrans District 12 director, who serves as a non-voting member.
