FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. – – Goodwill of Orange County opened the doors to its newest thrift store location in Fountain Valley to a crowd of more than 250 on Friday, April 26. The 15,000 square-foot location marks Goodwill OC’s 25th store location in Orange County, and brings the nonprofit closer to its bold goal to double its impact and footprint across the county.
The new 15,000 square-foot space, located at 17120 Magnolia St., debuts an updated interior look-and-feel for Goodwill OC, including a boutique pop-up, modern fixtures and merchandising, a runway, custom wallpaper, hanging elements, and more. Shoppers can find a one-of-a-kind assortment of clothing for all ages, home décor, furniture, electronics, appliances, accessories and more. Donors will also find a convenient and efficient donation drop off at the back of the store.
Goodwill OC’s President and CEO Nicole Suydam was joined by Fountain Valley Mayor Glenn Grandis and Vice Mayor Ted Bui, as well as several other city and county representatives for a special ribbon cutting ceremony to kick off the grand opening celebration.
“We are honored to open our newest store in the city of Fountain Valley and to provide shoppers and donors with a unique and purpose-driven secondhand shopping experience,” said Suydam. “With every store opening, more career opportunities are created and more lives impacted. As we celebrate our centennial anniversary this year, new stores like this one, give us the fuel to expand our workforce development mission even further over the next 100 years.”
As a nonprofit employment social enterprise, Goodwill OC’s retail outposts and donation centers generate the revenue to operate and provide critical workforce development programs to Orange County community members. For every dollar Goodwill OC spends, 94 cents goes directly into these mission services programs that help people achieve their goals through a journey of personal support, work experience and career support.
Goodwill OC is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, reflecting on a century of good and looking ahead to a future of impact. To get involved in the many centennial celebrations, visit https://www.ocgoodwill.org/100years/.
