  • I just heard about this fatality this evening and it sure appears there have been an excessive number of these pedestrian/ auto accidents in our city. I addressed this growing problem during the public comments session at the Santa Ana Public Safety/ Neighborhood Improvement Committee meeting this evening. Kudos to SAPD for initializing a new public awareness campaign for pedestrian safety and I look forward to seeing it being launched. I hope they realize that many citizens and organizations are willing to help in this effort and I hope they tap into this resource. This pedestrian/auto fatality problem is becoming increasingly visible to the public and it is quite troubling. # public education is paramount
