Jealousy, Tragedy and Betrayal Uncovered in a Performance of Shakespeare’s Othello at Santa Ana’s Historic Birch Park

A free live performance of one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays, Othello, will be performed by the Shakespeare by the Sea theater company on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in Santa Ana’s historical Birch Park. Considered one of the greatest displays of evil and betrayal ever written, Othello is the famous story of the Moorish general in the Venetian army who falls in love and marries beautiful Desdemona. From the beginning to the end of this amazing play, the ins and outs of treachery, led by Othello’s manipulative lieutenant Iago, grips the audience and leads them on a journey through jealousy, lies, betrayal, and revenge. Come and see how a simple gift of a handkerchief can be the catalyst that tips Othello to ruin and becomes the symbol of what Iago calls, “O, Beware, my lord, of jealousy; It is the green-ey’d monster…”.

Birch Park is located at 400 W. 3rd Street, on the corner of Third and Ross Streets, in Santa Ana. The performance will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. however guests are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes early to setup their own lawn chairs, blankets and picnics. Bring the family and enjoy a night of theater under the stars!

Celos, Tragedia y Traición al Descubierto en una Presentación Shakesperiana de Otelo en el histórico Parque Birch de Santa Ana

La presentación en vivo gratuita de una de las más famosas obras de Shakespeare, Otelo, se realizará por el grupo Shakespeare by the Sea el jueves, 28 de Julio 2016, a las 7:00 p.m. en el parque Birch de Santa Ana. Considerado como una de las grandes exhibiciones de mal y la traición que se hayan escrito, Otelo es la famosa historia del General Moro del ejército Veneciano que se enamora y se casa con la bella Desdémona. Desde el principio hasta el final de esta increíble obra, la montuosa traición, orquestrada por Iago, el manipulador teniente de Otelo, captiva a la audiencia y los lleva en un viaje a través de celos, mentiras, traición y venganza. Venga y vea cómo un regalo tan sencillo como un pañuelo puede ser el catalizador que empuja a Otelo hacia ruina y se convierta al símbolo de lo que llama Iago, “Oh cuidado, mi Señor, con los celos; pues son el monstruo de ojos verdes… “.

El Parque Birch está situado a en el 400 Oeste de la Calle Tercera, en le esquina de las calles Tercera y Ross, en Santa Ana. La obra empieza aproximadamente a las 7:00 p.m., pero está recomendado que el público llegue 30 minutos antes para acomodar sus sillas, cobijas y picnics. ¡Traiga a su familia y disfrute de una noche de teatro bajo las estrellas!
