Entertainment schedule for the 2014 OC Fair’s first full week, from July 16-20

2014 OC Fair First Full Week Features Performances by Karmin, Monster X Tour and Bad Religion Plus Free Activities and Family Fun July 16-20

Plus the OC Fair will salute Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente on select days July 16-18 with a community flag salute and discounts.

Costa Mesa, Calif. (July 14, 2014) – The 2014 OC Fair (July 11-August 10) continues onto its first full week of summer fun featuring world-class entertainment, deep-fried munchies, Texas-sized donuts, daily exhibits and thrilling rides and games. The Fair is closed Monday and Tuesday.

Here is a quick look of the events going on this week (July 16-20) at the 2014 OC Fair:

Wednesday, July 16 (Open Noon-Midnight)

  • Jeff Dunham in the Pacific Amphitheatre (8:15 p.m.)
  • Wild Child – A Jim Morrison Celebration in The Hangar (8:30 p.m.)
  • Monster X Tour – Monster Trucks & Tuff Trucks in the Action Sports Arena (7:30 p.m.)
  • We Care Wednesday Food Drive: Free admission and one carnival ride with donation of five (5) cans of food. (Noon-3 pm)
  • $30 Unlimited Rides & 2 Free Games (Sold until 5 p.m. and valid until 8 p.m.)
  • Community Flag Salute: Representatives from Dana Point, San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano will lead Fairgoers in singing the National Anthem at 12:30 p.m. at The Hangar and residents can enjoy a $2 discount on admission with a Fair coupon available at their local city halls or libraries.

Thursday, July 17 (Open Noon-Midnight)

  • Bad Religion / X in the Pacific Amphitheatre (7:45 p.m.)
  • Atomic Punks – A Tribute to Early Van Halen in The Hangar (8:30 p.m.)
  • Monster X Tour – Monster Trucks & Tuff Trucks in the Action Sports Arena (7:30 p.m.)
  • Kids Day: Guests 12 and younger are free all day
  • $30 Unlimited Rides & 2 Free Games (Sold until 5 p.m. and valid until 8 p.m.)
  • Shop ‘Til You Drop: Look for Olivia the Orange for special shopping deals with select vendors all day.
  • Celebrity Chef Carla Hall: Join Carla Hall, co-host of the popular ABC’s lifestyle series, “The Chew” and owner of Carla Hall Petite Cookies as she demonstrates her cooking skills onstage in The Hangar at 4 p.m.
  • Community Flag Salute: Representatives from Aliso Viejo, Mission Viejo and Rancho Santa Margarita will lead Fairgoers in singing the National Anthem at 12:30 p.m. at The Hangar and residents can enjoy a $2 discount on admission with a Fair coupon available at their local city halls or libraries.
  • Farmer’s Market: A California-certified farmers’ market where genuine farmers sell fruits, nuts and vegetables directly to the public. The Farmer’s Market will be held in Lot E from 8 a.m.-Noon before the Fair opens. Free admission and parking for the Farmer’s Market does not include Fair admission or parking.

Friday, July 18 (Open Noon-Midnight)

  • Karmin / Fifth Harmony in the Pacific Amphitheatre (7:45 p.m.)
  • Joshua Tree – A Tribute to U2 in The Hangar (8:30 p.m.)
  • Monster X Tour – Monster Trucks & Tuff Trucks in the Action Sports Arena (7:30 p.m.)
  • $2 Taste of Fair Food: Enjoy Fair favorites for $2 per sample (Noon-4 p.m.)
  • $2 Rides & Games (Noon-4 p.m.)
  • Chef Challenge: Come and see talented culinary professionals compete in an Earth themed cook-off at 7 p.m. in the OC Promenade.
  • OC Fair Express: Take a ride directly to the OC Fair from 8 different OCTA transit locations for only $2 one-way or $4 round-trip and receive a coupon for $3 OC Fair admission.
  • Community Flag Salute: Representatives from Anaheim, La Palma and Placentia will lead Fairgoers in singing the National Anthem at 12:30 p.m. at The Hangar and residents can enjoy a $2 discount on admission with a Fair coupon available at their local city halls or libraries.

Saturday, July 19 (Open 10 a.m.-Midnight)

  • Kenny Metcalf as Elton John – A Tribute to Early Elton in The Hangar (8:30 p.m.)
  • Monster X Tour – Monster Trucks & Tuff Trucks in the Action Sports Arena (7:30 p.m.)
  • Rise & Shine: $3 admission (10-11 a.m.)
  • Jr. Livestock Auction: In the Livestock Show Ring starting at 9:30 a.m. Bidder registration is available the day-of only.
  • Eating Smart Starts Here Contest: Get a start on eating smart by entering a homemade dish where the main ingredients are fruits and vegetables. Online pre-registration is due by Wednesday, July 16.
  • OC Fair Express & Metrolink: Take a ride directly to the OC Fair from 8 different OCTA transit locations for only $2 one-way or $4 round-trip and receive a coupon for $3 OC Fair admission. Metrolink riders can jump on the OC Fair Express for free from the Anaheim Canyon, Irvine or Santa Ana stations simply by showing their Metrolink ticket.   • Rise & Shine: $3 admission (10-11 a.m.)

Throughout the 2014 OC Fair (July 11-August 10), Fairgoers can also enjoy:

  • Military Get in Free: Free admission everyday for active U.S. military and veterans with appropriate I.D.
  • Read & Ride Program: Children (ages 5-11) who read at least two books and submit a completed OC Fair Read & Ride Book Report Form (available online at ocfair.com/readandride) will receive three free carnival rides.
  • Free Exhibits and Events: Culinary displays in the OC Promenade, All-Alaskan Racing Pigs, Russell Brothers Family Fun Circus, educational exhibits and contests for children in the Explorium, garden exhibits in the Centennial Farm and more.

The 2014 OC Fair, themed Summer Starts Here,is July 11 – August 10 and will bring 23 days of food, rides, exhibits, animals, music, action sports and fun, as well as the Super Pass, Toyota Summer Concert Series at the Pacific Amphitheatre and events in The Hangar and Action Sports Arena. The Fair is open WednesdaySunday. Concert tickets, action sports reserved seats, single-day general admission and the popular Super Pass are available for purchase online at ocfair.com or from the on-site Box Office. Free parking and shuttle service are available on Saturdays and Sundays from the Experian parking structure located off the Bristol St. exit of the 405 freeway.
