Remember the Garden Grove man who shot and killed a Santa Ana man and shot at two women after he alleged that they sold him a bad bag of dope? Well convicted killer Dustin McDonald is in trouble again. This time he attacked a deputy at Wasco State Prison, which is north of Bakersfield, with a homemade shank last Wednesday, according to the O.C. Register.
For some reason McDonald allegedly punched and stabbed the prison deputy in the face as dinner was being served, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
The unfortunate prison guard ended up with four puncture wounds to his face and one to his left arm then to top it all off the deputy dropped his baton so of course McDonald picked it up and started bashing the deputy with it.
The good news is that the deputy eventually regained control of his own weapon then he “subdued” McDonald who ended up with two lacerations to show for his efforts.
McDonald was transported to a local hospital for treatment then he was transferred to another state prison. Our guess is that he is now going to be serving his time in a high security prison. It will not go well for him.
The deputy was also treated for his wounds at a local hospital.
McDonald is rotting in prison because on Aug. 12, 2014, he arranged to meet with his three victims in Santa Ana for what they thought would be a drug transaction. At approximately 11:30 p.m. that night, the defendant drove up to the victim’s vehicle, just north of the Orange County School of the Arts, in the area of East 12th Street and Main Street, stepped out of his vehicle, and walked around to the front passenger side of the victims’ vehicle while armed with a firearm. The defendant fired approximately 10 shots at the victims, murdering the front passenger, 23-year-old Aaron Chavez. McDonald wounded both the 21-year-old female driver of the vehicle, Ashlee Caldwell, and the 28-year-old female passenger, Ingrid Gonzalez.
