City Council to honor Allan Fainbarg for his community contributions

Community Alert: The Mayor and City Council will honor Allan Fainbarg, an exemplary citizen, at tonight’s City Council meeting

SANTA ANA, CA (June 3, 2014) – The Santa Ana Mayor and City Council will recognize Allan Fainbarg for his exemplary citizen participation and services to the Santa Ana community.

Allan Fainbarg was born in Michigan and moved to Santa Ana in 1919 when he was only 10 months old. Shortly after arriving in Santa Ana, Allan’s father opened his first store “Eureka Shoes” located on 4th street. Allan attended Santa Ana High School and graduated from Santa Ana College in 1940.

Allan returned to Santa Ana after being discharged from the Navy and opened the Santa Ana Army-Navy stores and invested in many other properties including the four-block development project which later become the Fiesta Marketplace.

Allan has been an active supporter of the Santa Ana Boy’s and Girl’s Club, Santa Ana Police Departments Equestrian Unit, Saint Joseph’s Ballet and many other local organizations.
