Bowers Museum Presents Lecture Series on Early 20th Century American Art

Insightful Six-Week Program Starts Wednesday, January 28 in Santa Ana

The Bowers Museum in Santa Ana is presenting a special six part lecture series about Early 20th Century American Art, which will take place on consecutive Wednesdays at 11:15 am, starting on January 28 and ending March 11.

This exciting series will cover significant American art movements, including the Ashcan School, Modernism and the Avant-garde, the Harlem Renaissance, American Regionalism, Abstract Expressionism, Neo-Dada and Pop Art. Among the artists who will be discussed in this series are Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol.

Led by Kristin Mihaylovich, Associate Professor of Art History at Santa Monica College, this series will provide in-depth and insightful commentary about the major voices and forces shaping American art in the early 20th Century.

Admission to this series is Free to Bowers members and $10 for each lecture for the general public.
