Apply now to reserve a new affordable apartment in Santa Ana

Pre-applications are now being accepted for Legacy Square – a new affordable apartment community located at 301 E. Santa Ana Blvd. The wait list opened Monday, Feb. 6, and will remain open until 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17. Applications should be submitted online via the application portal on National CORE’s website.

The project, which is supported by the City of Santa Ana, is a multifamily community that offers 93 high-quality apartment homes – 30 one-bedrooms, 39 two-bedrooms and 24 three-bedrooms, with 33 apartment homes reserved as permanent supportive housing for people experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness.

To qualify, individuals and families must have household incomes below 60% of the area median income (AMI), which is $65,040 for a 2-person household. There will be a local preference for Santa Ana residents, but anyone can apply.

Legacy Square, un nuevo complejo de apartamentos asequibles ubicado en 301 E. Santa Ana Blvd, está aceptando solicitudes. La lista de espera se abrió el lunes 6 de febrero y permanecerá abierta hasta las 5 p.m. el viernes 17 de febrero. Las solicitudes deben enviarse en línea a través del portal de solicitudes en el sitio web de National CORE.

  • Honestly, if the city wants an even cheaper option, they could ask builders to build motel-like apartments. Not everybody wants or needs a kitchen. That said, be care not to concentrate poverty into one area. That leads to unsavory people moving in.
